New InterBase ads for Delphi, C++Builder and RAD Studio developers

Here are examples of some new ads targeted at Delphi, C++Builder and RAD Studio users as a reminder about InterBase, the embeddable database. You might see these around on the Embarcadero Developer Network site and other places.

Some important things to know about InterBase:
  • InterBase is available on the platforms where your RAD Studio apps are - Windows, Mac, iOS and Android
  • InterBase is easily available for development purposes with a free Developer Edition and InterBase ToGo test deployment licenses in RAD Studio, Delphi and C++Builder
  • InterBase IBLite is free to deploy with your apps on Android and iOS for RAD Studio, Delphi and C++Builder users

U have to wonder why people would even consider Interbase when there is Firebird and SQLite available

@Donovan That's the frustrating problem with EMBT marketing. They never, ever compare their product to the competition on their website or elsewhere. Just as this ad states it's targeted at existing users, it seems they don't want to/can't sell to those not already locked in.

I did a major study of programming languages, databases and BI reporting tools for two start-ups looking to choose their software stacks. EMBT was the only company besides Microsoft that didn't seem to acknowledge that competition existed. MS I could somewhat understand given their historical monopoly status. Heck, even RealBasic had pages directed at Java, C#, etc. developers talking about why they might want to switch from those respective products. Recently I couldn't even get Jim McKeeth to talk to me about specific advantages of Delphi over certain other products. I can't sell people their technology if they can't sell me on their technology. :-( And to do that one needs specific and honest product comparisons.
